Drypoint

          Drypoint is a printmaking technique that uses a sharp pointed stylus to draw into a metal plate.  This action creates a groove with burrs along the drawing line.  Ink is rubbed onto the plate which when wiped clean, leaves ink clinging to the burrs.  The resulting print has a feathery, delicate character to the lines.  The images below represent a series completed after a trip to Italy.
